When Musicbox closed on Cais do Sodré in 2025 after almost two decades, the team behind it moved east to Casa Capitão on Rua do Grilo in Beato. The building has four floors: a ground-floor room for concerts and club nights with space for about 400 people, a small stage in the attic, artist residencies in the basement and a restaurant with a terrace on the first floor.
The programme mixes bands, DJs and talks, so a night here can start with dinner and end on the dance floor. It is out of the centre and there is no metro nearby, so budget for a taxi or ride-hail back. Not for you if you want to hop between bars: this is a one-stop night.
Concerts and bigger club nights are ticketed, so check the programme before you travel out.
