Davide Campari's 1915 bar at the Duomo entrance of the Galleria, with a standing bar for a quick Campari and rooms upstairs.
Camparino in Galleria sits at the Piazza del Duomo entrance to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Gaspare Campari opened the Caffè Campari here in 1867, and in 1915 Davide Campari opened Camparino as its younger brother. The Bar di Passo, the standing bar at the front, still has the mosaic by Angelo d'Andrea and work by the cabinet maker Eugenio Quarti and the blacksmith Alessandro Mazzucotelli.
Order a Negroni or a Shakerato at the counter and drink it standing, as the Milanese do. The Bar di Passo opens from 09:30 to 23:00 on weekdays, and the Sala Spiritello upstairs serves until midnight from Monday to Saturday. Not for you if you want a late bar: this is an aperitivo stop, not the end of the night.
Walk in at the standing Bar di Passo; the Sala Gaspare Campari is by reservation only.
