Opulent café-bar in the old town, known for its Agua de Valencia, cocktails, tapas and theatrical décor.

Café de las Horas is on Calle Conde de Almodóvar in the old town, and it is where many visitors try their first Agua de Valencia, the local mix of cava, orange juice, vodka and gin. The room is the other draw: deliberately opulent, a blend of European and American bar styles, and in its own words quirky, elegant, whimsical and arty.

It works as a café by day, with coffee, tea and tapas, and as a cocktail bar in the evening. Valencia Tourist Card holders get a discount. There is a second venue, Café de las Horas by Axel Hotels. Not for you if you want a quiet local bar: it is popular, and it is on every visitor's list.
