Buck and Breck is a small cocktail bar on Brunnenstraße, near Rosenthaler Platz, founded by the bartender Gonçalo de Sousa Monteiro. There is no sign outside, only an unmarked door. Inside, guests sit around one large table that works as the bar, coats go on a self-service rail by the entrance, and the bottles are kept out of sight.
The menu sticks to classic and modern cocktails, and mobile phones are banned. It opens from 19:00 to 02:00. With so few seats it fills quickly, and people often wait outside. Not for you if you want a loud bar or a big group night: it is built for two or three people and a quiet conversation.
