Broken Shaker is the backyard bar of the Freehand hotel on Indian Creek Drive, in Mid-Beach just north of South Beach. It became famous for cocktails built on house-made elixirs, syrups and infusions, and it won Best American Hotel Bar at Tales of the Cocktail. The hotel calls it the coolest backyard in Miami, and the crowd is a mix of hotel guests and locals.
It opens Thursday 17:00–00:00, Friday and Saturday 17:00–01:00, and Sunday 17:00–23:00, and is closed Monday to Wednesday. Not for you if you want to drink late: it is an early-evening stop before the clubs.
No cover; it closes early by Miami standards, so come before 22:00.
