BIRD takes its name from Charlie Parker and sits under the arches of the Hofbogen, the old railway viaduct in Noord. It is three things at once: a wood-fired pizza kitchen, a stage for jazz, soul, funk and hip-hop, and a club that runs until 05:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.
From Tuesday to Thursday it closes at 01:00 and leans towards concerts, with a cocktail garden that stays open until mid-October. At weekends the room turns into club nights such as Throwback Jams. Eat first and you are already inside when the tables go. It is closed on Sunday and Monday. Not for you if you only want four-to-the-floor.
