Municipal music venue in La Merced, a 17th-century church on the river: gigs, theatre and a battle of the bands, tickets €3–25.
Bilborock is the old church of La Merced, a 17th-century building on the river opposite the Casco Viejo, which the city turned into a cultural centre in the 1990s. The main hall holds more than 300 people and has a proper sound and lighting rig.
The programme is mostly gigs, plus theatre, dance, vinyl fairs and an annual battle of the bands for local groups. Tickets are cheap: autumn 2026 dates run from about €3 for a local bill to €25 for The Jazz Room. Treat it as the first stop of the night, then move on to the bars of Bilbao La Vieja or the Casco Viejo. Not for you if you want to dance until dawn: it is a concert hall, not a club.
Ticketed concerts; buy in advance for touring bands.
