Barracuda grew out of Cave 45, a rock bar on Rua das Oliveiras, and Time Out now calls it the city's go-to rock club. It moved into the former Traçadinho bar on Rua da Madeira, which once served as an annex to Gare, a few doors along by São Bento station.
The music is rock and its offshoots: stoner, psychedelic, punk and rockabilly. Hours and prices change with the programme, so check its social channels before you go. It is the obvious alternative when the electronic clubs on the same street are not your night. Not for you if you came for techno or house.
