Barfly's Club is one of Vienna's long-standing American bars, now reopened inside the Hotel Josefine on Esterházygasse, a short walk from Mariahilfer Straße. The new room leans into the 1920s: velvet stools, brass, green marble walls and large mirrors.
The menu runs to more than 400 cocktails, with around 1,200 whiskies and 500 rums behind the bar. It opens at 18:00 from Monday to Saturday and closes at 02:00, or 03:00 on Friday and Saturday; on Sunday it runs from 19:00 to 01:00. Not for you if you want a quick beer or a noisy room.
