Attic bar above Café Gandolfi on Albion Street since 2002, with wine, cocktails, local art on the walls and Tim Stead furniture.
Bar Gandolfi opened in 2002 in the attic above Café Gandolfi on Albion Street, in the middle of the Merchant City. The loft was once a cheese store, and the furniture is by the wood sculptor Tim Stead. The bar serves the same wines and food as the café downstairs, plus cocktails such as the Wester Sunrise, made with rum, pomegranate liqueur and citrus.
Local artists show their work on the walls, and the room hosts exhibitions, food pop-ups and supper clubs. It is a calm first stop before the busier bars and clubs of the Merchant City. Not for you if you want music and a crowd: it is a place for a conversation.
Walk-in bar upstairs from the café; groups and functions book through Café Gandolfi.
