Northern Quarter music venue on Swan Street, reopened in 2022 with room for 520, plus the Copper Bar.
Band on the Wall stands on Swan Street, at the top of the Northern Quarter, on a site first licensed in 1803. The name dates from the 1930s, when the landlord put the stage high on the far wall of the pub. It is now a charity-run music venue, and after a £1.65 million expansion it reopened in March 2022 with a bigger stage and room for 520.
The programme leans towards jazz, soul, global music and new bands, from Shabaka to the Un-Convention music conference in autumn 2026. Concerts usually start at 19:30. The bar and kitchen serve craft beer, cocktails and pizza, and the Copper Bar hosts nights such as Salsa Chubasco. Not for you if you want a late club: it is a gig venue first.
