Bacchus Jazz Bar is a cellar bar on Trg kralja Tomislava, the square in front of the main train station, with a courtyard that is completely covered with plants. Several large fig trees give shade, and the bar has been running since the 1980s. It has reopened with new garden furniture and holds unpretentious jazz nights on Friday.
It is listed as open from 08:00 to 00:00 from Monday to Saturday; Sunday hours are not given. That makes it a good first or last stop. Not for you if you want a late night: it closes at midnight, and Friday jazz is the one regular music night we found.
