The Athletic Club & Social occupies a brown-hued Victorian building at 35 Buitengracht Street, spread over three storeys. Time Out's 2023 list describes DJs, live sets and late-night jazz, with cocktails and mezze upstairs, and Cape Town Tourism's list gives live jazz in the Trophy Room and free entry.
Listings differ on hours. All three guides checked agree that Thursday to Saturday runs to 02:00; they give the start as 11:00 or 12:00, and Monday to Wednesday closing between 22:00 and 00:00. Cape Town Magazine lists Sunday as closed. The hours shown here use the later opening time in each case, so confirm on the day.
