Altstadt is a pop venue and café on Stratumseind, and the place on the street where a band is more likely than a DJ. Concerts run several times a week, with new acts and better-known names from indie and rock to psych and electropop. Between the shows there are board game nights, pub quizzes, comedy, darts and pool.
It opens at 16:00 every day and closes at 02:00 from Sunday to Thursday and at 04:00 on Friday and Saturday. Some shows are free: the 90s Riot night on 11 October 2026 costs nothing. Effenaar also lists shows here, such as Queen's Pleasure on 8 November. Not for you if you want a dance floor all night.
