Altes Mädchen is the Ratsherrn brewery's Braugasthaus in the Schanzenhöfe, a converted industrial yard on Lagerstraße next to Sternschanze station. It pours from 30 taps and keeps more than 50 bottled beers.
It opens at noon and closes at 22:00 from Monday to Thursday, 22:30 on Friday and Saturday and 20:30 on Sunday, so treat it as the first stop rather than the last. The temporary Grünspan concert hall is on the same street, which makes a beer here before a show easy. Not for you if you want a late bar; it closes before the clubs open.
