Hollywood Boulevard club with a Funktion-One system, 22:00 to 03:00 nights on Fridays and Saturdays, and house, tech house and bass bookings.

Academy LA opened in January 2018 on Hollywood Boulevard in the space that had been Qtopia, Vanguard and Create, run by Insomniac as a companion to Exchange LA. The main floor has a Funktion-One sound system, 145 curved LED ceiling panels, 55 moving lights and CO2 cannons, and there is an upstairs VIP room plus an indoor and an outdoor patio. Techno Airlines gives the capacity as 1,000, while DJ Mag's 2023 profile gave 1,500.

Doors open at 22:00 on Fridays and Saturdays and the club closes at 03:00, with occasional extra nights. The autumn 2026 bookings include Nicky Romero, Steve Aoki, AC Slater and Benny Benassi, plus a Desert Hearts all-nighter with Justin Martin, and the Insomniac brands on the calendar cover techno, house, trance, hardstyle and bass. DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs placed it 24th in 2024 and 44th in 2026. Entry is 21+ with a physical ID and the bar is cashless. Not for you if you want a small room or a midweek night.
