The 53rd Village Halloween Parade takes place on Saturday 31 October, with the theme "Body & Soul". Time Out reports that it starts at 19:00 at Canal Street and goes north on Sixth Avenue to 15th Street. Spectators can watch between King Street and West 15th Street, and the stretch from Bleecker to 14th Street is the most crowded. Watching is free, the parade is expected to run until about 23:00, and NY1 broadcasts it live from 20:00.
Anyone in costume can march for free by joining the line-up at Canal Street and Sixth Avenue between 18:30 and 21:00. Spectators in street clothes cannot enter the route, and marchers are released in timed groups.
