Field Day is Sydney's New Year's Day dance festival, and the 2027 edition is set for Friday 1 January at The Domain with Major Lazer, Mall Grab and Sub Focus at the top of a three-stage bill. This post lists the line-up by stage, the ticket tiers and prices, the 18+ rule and what the organisers have said about entry and transport.

Facts checked on 22 October 2026. Line-ups, prices, sold-out status and transport plans change, so confirm on the organiser page before you go.
The festival page lists Major Lazer, Mall Grab and Sub Focus first, without labelling them as headliners. A September press report from The Music described the third headline slot as still to be announced, so Mall Grab may have been added to the top billing since. The rest of the bill by stage:
The festival lists these tiers, with prices excluding fees:
The page shows “on sale now” buttons but does not say which general admission release is current or whether any tier has sold out. The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney page says prices start from A$109.90, which differs from the A$99.90 on the festival page, so treat the starting price as unconfirmed until you reach the Moshtix checkout. Moshtix offers payment plans through Afterpay and PayPal Pay in 4, except on 18 to 25 tickets.
The Music reported an 18 to 25 ballot that opened at 12pm AEST on Wednesday 2 September 2026 and closed at 11:59pm on Sunday 6 September, with a presale from 12pm on Wednesday 9 September and general sale at 10am on Thursday 10 September. The festival page now marks the 18 to 25 ticket request as closed. Tickets are sold only through Moshtix, and the organisers warn that tickets bought elsewhere may not scan.
Field Day is strictly 18+ and valid photo ID is required. Holders of 18 to 25 tickets must be aged 18 to 25 on 1 January 2027 and scan at a dedicated entry lane; if the name or date of birth does not match the ID, the difference must be paid at Guest Services. Pass-outs and re-entry are not permitted. The prohibited-items list sits in the event entry conditions on the promoter’s terms page rather than on the festival page.
The organisers strongly recommend public transport and say detailed transport information will be shared closer to the event. No road closures or service changes have been published on the pages checked.
New Year's Eve in Sydney centres on the harbour fireworks at 9pm and midnight; see the vantage points guide for which sites are free, ticketed or sold out, and the Sydney nightlife neighbourhoods for after midnight.
