The 10 best clubs in Rome, ranked: Circolo degli Illuminati, Rashõmon, Lanificio 159, Qube and more, with entry prices, closing times and what each door wants.
The best clubs in Rome are not where the postcards are. The historic centre has cocktail bars and a password speakeasy, but the dance floors are in Ostiense, Testaccio, Pigneto and the old industrial east around Tiburtina. Via Giuseppe Libetta and Via degli Argonauti, near Garbatella metro, hold the densest cluster: Circolo degli Illuminati, Rashõmon and NEO. Further out, Lanificio 159 fills a former wool mill and Qube hosts Muccassassina, the city's queer Friday since 1993.
This list covers house, techno, disco, gigs and the members' clubs of Pigneto. Each entry gives the entry price where it is published, the closing time, what the door wants and one honest reason to skip it. The basics first: clubs fill after 01:00 and close between 04:00 and 06:00, a ticket usually costs €10–25, and many nights are 21+. The metro stops around 23:30, or 01:30 on Friday and Saturday, so plan the ride home before you go out.
We ranked clubs on five things: sound, crowd, door, late licence and value. Sound means a room and a booking policy built for dancing. Crowd means people who came for the music rather than the photo. Door means you can predict your chances of getting in, including age rules and membership cards. Late licence means a finish at 04:00 or later. Value compares the ticket price with what you get for it. Every club here has events or official listings dated 2025 or 2026, and every price, time and address comes from the venue's own site, current Resident Advisor listings or recent local guides. We do not sell tickets ourselves.
The most consistent club night in Rome: MINÛ fills the Saturday slot with resident Germano Ventura and guests such as Ben UFO, Gerd Janson and DJ Tennis. Three rooms, a bar and a restaurant make it easy to spend the whole evening on Via Libetta. Skip it if you are under 21, or if you want hard techno.
Resistance turned fourteen in November 2025 and books the heavyweight end of techno, from DVS1 to Freddy K, across the BlackBox and the R.Bar. It is the most focused techno night in the city. Skip it if you want variety: it is techno from start to finish.
The largest space on this list: 3,500 m² of former wool mill with a second stage in the River Loft. Funky Express and Yokho Tribe bring house and disco, and Reveries books bass and electronica, with SBTRKT in October 2026. Skip it if you want to walk between clubs: it is far from everything else.
Muccassassina has run since 1993 and opened its 37th season in October 2026: drag, disco and performance across three floors from 23:00 to 05:00. It is one of the main nights of Rome's LGBTQIA+ scene. Skip it if you want a purist DJ night: this is a show as much as a club.
Alibi hosts promoters such as Juno World and Branchie on Via di Monte Testaccio, and its nights run longer than almost anywhere in Rome, to 06:00 or 07:00. Tickets are €10–20. Skip it if you want a fixed weekly night: the programme depends on the promoter.
A former cinema in Trastevere where you can eat facing the stage, catch a soul or funk band and stay for house and disco residencies such as Toy Tonics Jam. Tickets are around €15–18 and the door is 18+. Skip it if you want a late night: it closes at 03:00.
A small Ostiense club with house and techno from Friday to Sunday, built around resident DJs at Our Friday and Dance To Meraviglia. It stayed open through the summer of 2026, when many rooms moved outdoors. Skip it if you want a headliner: the names here are local.
An open-air garden on the Colle Oppio, near the Colosseum, that turns from restaurant into dance floor, with State of Flux bringing techno and house guests until 04:30. It is the most central club night on this list. Skip it if you want a dark, closed room.
A music space near Pigneto that mixes live bands, DJ sets, indie rock, jazz and LGBTQ+ parties, open Wednesday to Sunday and until 04:00 on Friday and Saturday. It suits a night that starts on Via del Pigneto. Skip it if you want one predictable sound.
An ARCI cultural club with bands, DJs and film screenings every night until 03:00, from punk and rock to pop and electro. It is the most local night on this list, in the middle of Pigneto's bar streets. Skip it if you have no ARCI card, or want a late finish.
Pick one cluster per night. Circolo degli Illuminati, Rashõmon and NEO all sit around Garbatella station in Ostiense, so you can compare queues and switch if one disappoints. Alibi is in Testaccio, one metro stop away at Piramide. Fanfulla 5/a and Largo Venue are in Pigneto, with the bars of Via del Pigneto for the warm-up. Lanificio 159 and Qube are destinations: you go for the night and stay until the end.
Getting around is the hard part. Metro B serves Ostiense, Testaccio and Tiburtina, but it closes around 23:30, or 01:30 on Friday and Saturday. After that, night buses with an n before the number run until 05:30, and the nMB follows Metro B. A €1.50 ticket covers 100 minutes, and you can tap a contactless card on board.
Rome rewards a plan. Decide which scene you want, buy tickets online before the door price rises, check the age rule and sort an ARCI card if you are heading to Fanfulla 5/a. Rashõmon Club in Ostiense for the Resistance techno Fridays, Alibi in Testaccio for long house and techno nights, and Circolo degli Illuminati for house and minimal at MINÛ on Saturdays.
Usually between 04:00 and 06:00. Lanificio 159 closes at 04:30, Rashõmon and Muccassassina at 05:00, and some nights at Alibi run until 06:00 or 07:00.
Usually €10–25. Circolo degli Illuminati charges around €15, NEO €20 and Lanificio 159 €10–20. At Rashõmon the price rises from €10 early online to €25 at the door after 01:00.
Many club nights are 21+, including Circolo degli Illuminati, NEO and Rashõmon. Lanificio 159 and Alcazar Live are 18+. Bring original ID.
Ostiense, around Garbatella metro, has the most clubs within walking distance of each other. Testaccio and Tiburtina are the other two club areas.
