The 10 best clubs in Porto, ranked: Gare, Plano B, Pérola Negra, Maus Hábitos and more, with entry prices, closing times and what each door expects.
The best clubs in Porto are small, cheap and close together. Most of them sit in two clusters a ten-minute walk apart: Rua da Madeira, the narrow street beside São Bento station where Gare, Era uma vez no Porto, Barracuda and Ferro Bar are neighbours, and the Galerias de Paris bar streets by the Clérigos Tower, home to Plano B and Maria Pistolas. Add Passos Manuel and Maus Hábitos a little to the east, Pérola Negra to the north and Hard Club down by the river, and you have the whole map.
Each entry gives you what we could verify: the entry price where it is published, the closing time, the age rule and one honest reason to skip it. The basics first. Most club nights cost €10, some are free, and the main rooms close at 06:00. Doors open between 23:00 and midnight and the floors fill after 02:00. The metro stops around 01:00, so plan the way home before you go.
We ranked clubs on five things: sound, crowd, door, late licence and value. Sound means a room built for music, whether that is a techno floor or a concert hall. Crowd means people who came for the night rather than the photo. Door means you can predict if you will get in, including age rules that change by night. Late licence means a finish at 04:00 or later. Value compares the ticket with what you get for it. Every venue here has events or official listings dated 2025 or 2026, and every price, time and address comes from the venue's own site, Time Out or current Resident Advisor listings. We do not sell tickets ourselves.
One of the busiest dance floors in Porto, on Rua da Madeira beside São Bento, with a booking history that includes Jeff Mills, Ben Klock and Helena Hauff. Most nights cost €10 and run Friday to Sunday until 06:00. Skip it if you want hits or a bright room: it is techno, dark and loud.
A Galerias de Paris landmark on Rua de Cândido dos Reis, with three main rooms and bookings from house to techno, including John Talabot in September 2026. Tickets usually cost €10 and it runs Thursday to Saturday until 06:00. Skip it if you want a quiet floor: it is the natural last stop for the whole Galerias crowd.
A former sex club on Rua de Gonçalo Cristóvão, reopened as a nightclub with the original name and decor. Early hours lean nostalgic, later it moves to house and disco, with guests such as Massimiliano Pagliara. Skip it if you are under 21 on a 21+ night, or if you want a big room.
A fourth-floor arts space on Rua Passos Manuel since 2001, with exhibitions, a pizzeria, gigs and parties such as Hard Ass Sessions and GrooveBall. On Friday and Saturday it stays open until 06:00. Skip it if you want a dedicated club every night: the programme changes, so check it first.
A resident-led club on Rua da Madeira, a short walk from Gare, with R4W nights on Wednesday and techno sessions on Sunday from 23:00 to 06:00 at about €10. It is one of the few places to dance late at the start of the week. Skip it if you want big international names.
A bar and dance floor inside an old cinema on Rua de Passos Manuel, popular with the city's cultural crowd and known as queer-friendly. It opens Wednesday to Saturday until around 04:00, and some DJ nights are free. Skip it if you want a big sound system or a 06:00 finish.
Five rooms with five different moods on Praça de Filipa de Lencastre, at the top of the Galerias de Paris, open Thursday to Saturday from midnight to 06:00. Time Out counts it among the newer and better dance clubs in Porto. Skip it if you want one focused booking: it is about variety.
A concert venue since 1997, and inside the Mercado Ferreira Borges above the Ribeira since 2010, with two rooms and one hall for about 300 standing. Mercury Rev, The Lemon Twigs and Alcest are on the 2026–27 calendar. Skip it if you want a club night: this is gigs first.
Time Out calls it the city's go-to rock club: born from Cave 45 and now in the former Traçadinho bar on Rua da Madeira, a few doors from Gare. Stoner, psychedelic, punk and rockabilly fill the night. Skip it if you came for electronic music.
A bar and small club on Rua da Madeira with signature cocktails, concerts, comedy and DJ nights, open Tuesday to Sunday until 04:00. Electronica nights such as Mister Teaser's run from 23:00. Skip it if you want a big dance floor: the room is small.
Pick a cluster and you rarely need anything but your feet. Rua da Madeira is the late street: start with a cocktail at Ferro Bar, then choose between techno at Gare, rock at Barracuda or, on a Sunday, Era uma vez no Porto. The Galerias de Paris are the warm-up, with Plano B and Maria Pistolas for the second half of the night. Passos Manuel and Maus Hábitos share a street east of Aliados, and Pérola Negra is a ten-minute walk north of them.
Getting home is the part to plan. The metro runs until about 01:00, with no all-night service at the weekend. After that, STCP night buses leave from Avenida dos Aliados, at €2.50 on board or €1.40 with an Andante card, and the centre is small enough to walk, uphill or down.
Porto rewards a short plan: one cluster, a €10 ticket bought on Resident Advisor or at the door, and a route home after the last metro. Gare and Plano B are the best-known names. Gare, beside São Bento station, has booked Jeff Mills, Ben Klock and Helena Hauff; Plano B is the landmark of the Galerias de Paris.
Most close at 06:00, including Gare, Plano B, Pérola Negra and Maria Pistolas. Passos Manuel and Ferro Bar close around 04:00.
Usually €10. That is the price of most October 2026 nights at Gare, Plano B, Pérola Negra and Era uma vez no Porto on Resident Advisor, and some nights at Passos Manuel are free.
18+ at most clubs, with photo ID. Some nights are 21+, as at recent Pérola Negra parties, so check the listing before you buy.
Rua da Madeira by São Bento station for Gare, Era uma vez no Porto and Barracuda, and the Galerias de Paris for Plano B and Maria Pistolas. The two are about ten minutes apart on foot.
