The 10 best clubs in Marseille

The 10 best clubs in Marseille, ranked: the Cabaret Aléatoire, Baby Club, the Trolleybus and more, with entry prices, closing times, door rules and the way home.

7 min read

The best clubs in Marseille are small, cheap and spread over the hills behind the harbour. This list covers the ten rooms that shape a night out here: the Cabaret Aléatoire and Unité.22 on rue Jobin in Belle de Mai, Baby Club and Le Makeda around La Plaine, and the Trolleybus and Danceteria by the Vieux-Port, plus a rooftop, an open-air party site and two rooms where the night starts with a band.

Each entry gives you what we could verify: the price where it is published, the closing time, what the door wants and one honest reason to skip it. The basics first. Club doors open between 23:00 and midnight, and most nights end between 04:00 and 06:00. Tickets usually cost €5–25 on Shotgun, and several rooms hold no more than 300 people. From Monday to Thursday the metro stops at 21:30, so plan your way home before you go in.

How we picked

We ranked venues on five things: sound, crowd, door, late licence and value. Sound means a room built for music, from a Funktion-One system to a stone vault. Crowd means people who came for the night rather than the photo. Door means how easy it is to get in and if you need a ticket first. Late licence means how long the night runs. Value compares the price with what you get. Every venue here has events or a listing for 2026, and every price, time and address comes from the venue's own site, Shotgun, Marseille's tourist office or recent local press. We do not sell tickets ourselves.

1
Techno at the Friche

Le Cabaret Aléatoire

Belle de Mai, Techno, Hard trance, Dub

The club and concert hall of the Friche la Belle de Mai, and the room that sets the pace for electronic music in the city, from deep techno to hard trance and dub. Club Cabaret nights run from 23:00 to 05:00 with tiered tickets from about €6, and Autechre plays on 13 October 2026. Skip it if you want a club in the centre: it is a trip up behind Saint-Charles station, and the bigger nights sell out.

It opens from Tuesday to Saturday, midnight to 06:00, free on Wednesday and Thursday and €10 at the weekend. Skip it if you want one serious booking: this is a broad night out, not a headliner.

Worth knowing
Tickets sell on DICE, and a box office opens at the door if places are left.
Watch out for

Group the night by hill and you will walk less. Belle de Mai has the Cabaret Aléatoire and Unité.22 on the same street, with L'Embobineuse and Le Chapiteau in the same arrondissement. Baby Club, Le Makeda and Le Molotov sit around La Plaine and Notre-Dame-du-Mont, close enough to do a gig first and a club after. By the harbour, the Trolleybus and Danceteria are a few minutes apart, and R2 at Joliette suits an early start.

From Monday to Thursday the metro stops at 21:30 and relay buses run until 00:30; from Friday to Sunday it runs until 00:30. Trams run until 01:00. After that, the Noctambus N1 and N2 leave the Vieux-Port at 01:30, 02:30, 03:30 and 04:30 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, or you take a taxi.

Marseille rewards a plan: one ticket bought, one hill chosen and the last tram or Noctambus in mind.
