The 10 best clubs in Bologna, ranked: Link, Kindergarten, TANK, Locomotiv, Covo and more, with entry prices, closing times and the card each door wants.
The best clubs in Bologna are not where most visitors look. The old centre is for aperitivo, osterie and jazz; the dancing happens north of the station, in Bolognina and San Donato, in members' clubs with cheap doors and late finishes. This list covers ten rooms worth the ride: Link's all-nighters, the techno at Kindergarten and TANK, gigs at Locomotiv, Covo and Estragon, Cassero's queer parties, two late clubs in the centre and the jazz club that has had live music every night since 1987.
For each club we give what we could verify: the entry price where it is published, when the night runs, what the door wants and one honest reason to skip it. The basics first. Entry is usually €10–15, most clubs close between 04:00 and 05:00, and most ask for an ARCI, AICS or Arcigay membership card. The night buses only run on Friday and Saturday nights.
We ranked clubs on five things: sound, crowd, door, late licence and value. Sound means a room built for dancing or listening. Crowd means people who came for the music. Door means how predictable entry is, membership cards included. Late licence means how long the night runs. Value compares the price with what you get. Every club here has events listed for autumn 2026 or a current programme with the city's tourist board, and every price, time and address comes from the venue, Bologna Welcome, Resident Advisor or TicketOne. We left out famous names we could not confirm as active. We do not sell tickets ourselves.
The club that helped define Italian club culture, now on Via Fantoni in San Donato, with Saturday sessions from 23:59 to 07:00 and bookings such as tINI and Indira Paganotto in autumn 2026. Tickets start at €6.50 in the first tier. Skip it if you will not sort an AICS card in advance, or if you want to be home before sunrise.
A club near the Fiera with techno, bass and hard rave on Friday and Saturday from 23:00 to 04:00, and two rooms on big nights. The N2 night bus stops at Calzoni, by the door. Skip it if you want house music or an older crowd: this is a young, heavy room.
An independent, women-directed ARCI club founded in 2020, with techno, live electronics and talks, and nights from 23:00 to 05:00. Entry is often free before midnight and €10 after. Skip it if you have not got an ARCI card yet: there is no sign-up at the door.
A former bowling alley in Bolognina's railway workers' park, open since 2007, with its own studio and label and a dense calendar: Astro, Justin Sullivan, Leo Middea and Temples in October 2026 alone. Skip it if you only want to dance: it is a gig venue first.
A San Donato institution that has booked independent Italian and international bands since 1980, many before they were famous, with concerts and parties through November 2026. Skip it if you want a big room or chart music.
Bologna's LGBTI+ centre, next to MAMbo, holds house and techno parties in a tower above the old Reno canal, and you can take out the Arcigay or Arcilesbica card on the night. Skip it if you want table service, and check its social channels first, as we could not confirm the current programme online.
A central club in an old palace on Via Riva di Reno, with themed nights through the week and the Eclettica house series on Saturdays, opened by Ian Pooley on 3 October 2026 from 23:00 to 04:30, with tickets from €12 including a drink. Skip it if you are under 20 on an Eclettica night.
The most central club here, at Via Zamboni 1 by the Two Towers, with late Saturday parties such as HERV's disco and Balearic takeover on 10 October 2026, from 22:00 to 04:00. Skip it if you want techno, and check prices on its social channels: we could not reach its website.
The city's large rock club, a 1,200 m² hall with two bars on Via Stalingrado, with tours from The Selecter to Madame in autumn 2026 and some free dance nights. Skip it if you want a club rather than a concert: most nights are gigs that start at 20:00 or 21:00.
Jazz seven nights a week on Via Mascarella since 1987, with dinner and jam sessions when guest players join, until 01:30 midweek and 02:00 at weekends. It is the best way to start a night before the clubs. Skip it if you want to dance.
Bologna's clubs sit in two clusters north of the centre. Locomotiv, TANK, Kindergarten and Estragon are on the Bolognina and Fiera side, beyond Stazione Centrale; Link and Covo are in San Donato, to the north-east. Kinki, Millenium and Cassero are the exceptions, inside the old city.
Plan the night around the buses. On Friday and Saturday nights TPER runs eight night lines, N1 to N8, every 30 minutes, mostly from Stazione Centrale between 00:30 and 05:30. The N2 stops at Calzoni for Kindergarten and runs along Via Stalingrado past Estragon, and the N3 serves San Donato. A ticket costs €2.30, and you can tap a contactless card on the validator. On weeknights, book a taxi with CAT on 051 4590.
Bologna rewards a little admin. Get the right membership card, pick a Friday or Saturday so the night buses run, and start with aperitivo in the centre before heading north. For prices, transport and how the night runs from aperitivo to 05:00, read our full Bologna nightlife guide. To choose where to drink first, our guide to Bologna nightlife by neighbourhood covers each area in turn. For ticketed nights and events, see NightFind tickets. Heading on to Lombardy? For electronic music, Link: it runs until 07:00 on Saturdays and books international names. For techno with a clear ethos, TANK. For live music, Locomotiv and Covo.
Usually between 04:00 and 05:00. Kindergarten closes at 04:00, Millenium at 04:30 and TANK at 05:00, and Link runs to 07:00 on Saturdays.
At most. TANK and Millenium ask for an ARCI card, Link and Locomotiv an AICS card, Covo either, and Cassero an Arcigay or Arcilesbica card. TANK does not sign anyone up at the door.
Usually €10–15. Link's tickets run from €6.50 to €15, TANK is often free before midnight and €10 after, and Millenium's Eclettica starts at €12 with a drink.
On Friday and Saturday nights the N1 to N8 night buses leave Stazione Centrale every 30 minutes until about 05:30. The N2 serves Kindergarten and Estragon and the N3 San Donato. Otherwise, take a taxi.
